Good morning, and welcome to the 5th edition of Jeffco Crew!
As a former Midwesterner, this is a wild time of year for me, as the weather reminds me why I moved here, trading what felt like endless months of dreary, cold, never-ending blah for a hilariously schizophrenic mix of gorgeous sunny summer-like heat, bone-chilling tornado-strength gusts, and random foot-deep snow storms. Huge fan. Bring it all on.
And one more thing, I just want to say that the emails I've received about this newsletter have been incredible. You're all such cool people and I'm excited to keep building a big, fun community together.
🧠 Tips from ya'll
Wheat Ridge's new bagel shop is white hot. Today is Oyster Tuesdays at Tom's. A new Whole Foods for Arvada is exciting - as is an incoming Trader Joe's and the new Arvada Beer Garden. Lakewood is offering free blood pressure screens all month. And they reduced their residential speed limit to 20mph. Denver Zoo's February Free Day is the same day as the Super Bowl - tix still available for members.

🐕 Goldens in Golden
I still remember when I found out this existed. There's simply no way not to love the idea of hundreds of Golden Retrievers and their owners from all over the country descending on a small mountains-edge town to hang out all day. Nearly every Golden small business has some special or treat ready for pups and their owners - way too many to list - but highly recommend this family-friendly, jovial event to everyone. Also note a pretty cool kickoff party at Golden Mill.

Take the family down to the Convention Center to check out 50+ booths run entirely by kiddos - creative kids are invited to bring their business to the Colorado Garden & Home Show where they will be alongside the latest ideas and trends in landscaping, gardening and home improvement. All day Saturday and Sunday.

Buckle up, crew - Arvada pops off all day Friday to embrace all of Olde Town’s creative endeavors from art to live music to craft beverages and more. The @artdroparvada IG stories will be dropping clues to hidden pieces of art from @haleyward_art - solve the clues, find the art, and it’s yours to keep - how cool is that?
