Jeffco Crew #015 - Meteors, Bunnies & Plants

Jeffco Crew #015 - Meteors, Bunnies & Plants
Cool, Friday. Cool.

Happy Tuesday crew!

We're into patio season! With snow storms. As expected.

I'm pulling together a meetup for Jeffco Crew members - let me know what type of event you'd prefer if this is the kinda thing you'd be up for attending:

A happy hour type event

A coffee type gathering

A hike or physical activity

An art-related event

I'm very open to ideas - drop them here if you have them!

🎧 For the music geeks

Where we hunt new music from emerging artists.

This first is a dude who had a promising NFL career taken from him via injury, forcing him to grace us with this soulful, sexy tune:

This voice will put you on the ground.

Next we got a somewhat-seasoned rapper from New Hampshire that seems to be having a bit of a moment:

A rapper from New Hampshire, because you can just do things.

Table Mountain has a few more spots left for new website builds this spring - we help folks take their web presence from "meh" to "excellent" and we'd love to help a few Jeffco members get ahead.

A few highlighted events - get all the events here.

🌠 Meteor Showers Incoming

Heads up, Jeffco skywatchers! The Lyrid meteor shower is set to dazzle the night skies this April, peaking around April 21-22. One of the oldest known meteor showers, the Lyrids typically produce 10-20 meteors per hour, with occasional bursts. The best viewing time is after midnight in a dark spot away from city lights – grab a blanket, lie back, and look up! No telescope needed. Just you, the stars, and maybe a thermos of something warm.

💎 Rocks & Fossils Galore

Rockhounds, fossil fanatics, and curious minds – The Colorado Mineral & Fossil Spring Show returns to Denver from April 18–20, 2025, at the National Western Complex. This free, family-friendly event features over 200 vendors offering everything from dazzling crystals and rare minerals to ancient fossils and handmade jewelry. Enjoy interactive activities like geode cracking, gold panning lessons, and a dinosaur dig for kids. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just looking for a unique weekend outing, this show offers a treasure trove of natural wonders and fun for all ages.

🪴 Garden In A Box Interest Signups (for late summer)

Resource Central’s Garden In A Box program offers professionally designed, low-water garden kits tailored for Colorado yards. Each kit includes starter plants, Plant by Number maps, and seasonal maintenance guides, making it easy to replace sections of turf with beautiful, drought-tolerant landscapes. The program opens for pre-orders twice a year: in March for spring planting and until June for late summer planting. Spring kits are currently sold out, but sign-ups for the late summer season are currently open, with pickups scheduled for August and September.
