I've been teaching my son to swim (or, survive in water) and learning how to walk right as I crawl back from my achilles tendon tear earlier this year.

That thing every other week where I poke around our local real estate market to highlight fun finds - great deals, astronomical mansions or killer mountain cabins.
A grass roof. I think maybe The Hobbit seeded this image in my brain long ago, but I've always been drawn to homes built "underneath" nature.
So obviously, this 3BD 2.5BA home in up in the hills above Golden caught my eye.
It's listed at $1.995m (so much cheaper than $2m lol) but that's definitely due to the fact that it comes with 107 (!) acres in the foothills.
Which affords it one heck of a view.

🎨 Evergreen Summerfest
Celebrating its 45th year, Evergreen Summerfest is a juried fine arts and crafts fair featuring 100+ artists alongside live performances, food and beer vendors, and family-friendly activities. With mountain views as the backdrop, it’s one of the largest art events on the west side and a relaxed way to spend your Saturday or Sunday checking out painter, potter, sculptor, and jeweler booths. I'll likely be attending, as I'm a sucker for art festivals.
🎉 LUKI Brewery’s 5th Anniversary Weekend
LUKI is celebrating five years with a full weekend of events, beer releases, and creative activities. Each day brings something different - Friday kicks off with new brews (like a Banana Split Ale), a sourdough bread pop-up, and a Luau-themed karaoke night. Saturday features a paint-your-own tie-dye station, a community canvas project, and a splatter paint tent, plus live music in the evening. Sunday wraps up with a relaxed pancake breakfast and brunch drinks.
🎸 Punk in the Park
On the other side of town this weekend we have the biggest punk-rock-and-beer hangout with its first-ever three-day festival, featuring over 40 bands across two stages - no overlapping sets to stress over. Punk legends like Bad Religion, Descendents, Dropkick Murphys, Pennywise, Circle Jerks, plus local favorites like Cheap Perfume and Younger Than Neil will be performing. On Saturday and Sunday noon - 3pm, a craft‑beer tasting pass ($15 add‑on) offers local and regional sips alongside food‑truck fare. Doors open Friday at 4pm, and Saturday/Sunday at noon. All ages welcome - kids 5 and under get in free. If you’re into loud riffs, crowd energy, and good brews, this is your weekend.
