Jeffco Crew #032- Chicken Fights, Naming Drinks & Bike Cruises

Let's kick this off with a huge thank you to everyone who made it out to our first in-person meetup, and to Odyssey Beerwerks (shout out to Chad) for hosting us!

It was really great to meet some of you. You're all such nice people! We had a few beers, learned about everyone's favorite spots around town, talked about how each different municipal is run and what it's like to live in the different communities throughout Jeffco.

I got amazing feedback on the newsletter, and some ideas for future events and features. It was really great.

Which brings me to our next order of business.

We are hosting our next meetup on Thursday, September 11th!

Lots of great events this week and weekend...

🏡 Looky Loo

That thing every other week where I poke around our local real estate market to highlight fun finds - great deals, astronomical mansions or killer mountain cabins. 

Okay so this 6BD, 4.5BA home in Upper Bear Creek clocks in at $4.5m so I'm not sure we're getting pre-approved for a bid here, but the property really ticks some boxes for me so I had to share.

The home itself is leaning into the mountain feel, maybe a little too much here and there, but the patio (look at that fireplace) and general "let's entertain friends and family" vibe of the whole thing is just next level.

But it's the mother-in-law cabin and "Party Barn" that really push it over the edge for me. Neither is overdone or gaudy, they're just cozy and functional and fantastic.

Now, let's go find a cabin. This 2BD, 1BA cabin out in Como, coming in at $434,900, stood out to me because it's nestled in the trees and looks like it's straight from an American novel.

A lot of properties below $500k are really falling apart, or built on tree-less lots, while this one offers established trees and a warm, inviting interior.

It's also got a huge, super functional garage for toys and tools and sits on 1.6 acres, and only about 90m away from most of the areas we live in.

🎨 Fourth Friday in Olde Town Arvada

Olde Town Arvada's monthly Creative Crawl brings live art demonstrations, music ranging from open mic performances to pop-up shows, and local vendors setting up shop along the sidewalks with handmade goods.

The restaurants and bars get in on the action too, with creative food and drink specials throughout the district. It's the kind of evening where you can wander from street art to live music to discovering something unique from a local maker – all while the kids are entertained and the whole family can enjoy the energy of Olde Town after work hours.
